Winning Campaigns are Built on Solid Lists and Real Relationships

We expect so much from our elected officials. Even in our smallest towns, a candidate for city wide office must communicate with hundreds if not thousands of households.

Many campaigns, whether for town alderman or to stop a WalMart or to protect a River or organize a workplace, most of the campaigns in fact which have deeply affected our lives, start out in conversations around kitchen tables and coffee tables. The campaigns which affect our lives though must find ways to reach broader audiences.

Building the lists of campaign supporters is the essence of political and community and workplace organizing. Managing those lists has long been the bane of the people who do that work. Now, with CiviCRM, a featured application of our Hosting Packages, Plus, it doesn't have to be anymore.

"CiviCRM is the first open source and freely downloadable constituent relationship management solution. CiviCRM is web-based, open source, internationalized, and designed specifically to meet the needs of advocacy, non-profit and non-governmental groups."

CiviCRM won't do your data entry for you. You still need to recruit volunteers for that task. But it will permit that volunteer to sit at their home computer building your database, without you having to provide additional office space to accomodate the task. It will help your supporters build your list with you. It will permit you to discretely share access to your lists so that the volunteer preparing the mailing labels can get it, and your fundraising committee can get to it and the treasurer can access it, but others who you do not designate to share this access won't have it.
